What happens to information when you use gekko.cash.

About this policy
This explains what happens to information when you use gekko.cash, the interface to the Gekko protocol on Robinhood Chain.
Gekko is non custodial. It never holds your assets, never holds your keys, and cannot transact on your behalf. Most of what follows is therefore about a small amount of information, because there is a small amount to hold.
What is collected
Your wallet address, once you connect one. This is public information on a public chain, and it is what identifies you here. There is no account, no password and no email.
What you write. Chat messages you send to a coin's character, a display name if you claim one, and the name, ticker, description, links and picture you enter when launching a coin.
Coin images, uploaded to IPFS. IPFS is a public network. Anything pinned there is public and permanent and cannot be unpublished, by us or by anyone.
Ordinary request data, such as IP address and browser type, handled by the hosting provider as part of serving the site.
Analytics. Google Analytics records which pages are visited, roughly where in the world from, and what device. It is used to see which parts of the site people actually use. It is not connected to your wallet address and is not used to advertise to you.
Nothing is collected about you from anywhere else, and nothing is bought from a data broker.
What is public whether we like it or not
Everything you do on chain is public: launches, trades, transfers, burns and fee claims, permanently and by design. This cannot be deleted, hidden or corrected by anyone, including us. A coin's name, description and image reference are stored on chain at launch, so those are permanent too.
If that matters to you, decide before you transact rather than after.
How it is used
To show you the site and your holdings, to let a coin's character reply to you, to attribute a display name to a wallet, to keep the interface working, and to respond if you ask for help.
Analytics is used to understand which pages get used, in aggregate.
It is not used to profile you, target advertising at you, or build a picture of you across other sites.
Who else sees it
Running the site involves service providers for hosting, storage, wallet connection and image pinning. They handle information only in order to provide those functions.
Chat messages are sent to an AI provider in order to be answered. Do not put anything in a chat you would not want leaving this site.
Information is not sold. There is no advertising business here to sell it to.
Browser storage
The site stores small amounts of data in your browser so a wallet connection survives a reload, and Google Analytics sets its own cookies to tell repeat visits from new ones. Clearing your browser data clears both.
No advertising cookies are set and nothing here follows you to other sites. Blocking analytics in your browser does not stop the site working.
Retention
Off chain rows are kept while the interface needs them. On chain and IPFS data are permanent and outside anyone's control, including ours.
Your choices
- Disconnect your wallet at any time. Nothing further is recorded.
- Ask what is held about an address, and ask for off chain rows to be removed. Reach us at the contact below.
- Understand what cannot be removed: anything on chain, and anything pinned to IPFS.
Security
Never share a seed phrase or private key with anyone, including anybody claiming to be from Gekko. Nobody here will ever ask for one, or send you a link to "validate", "sync" or "unlock" a wallet. Anyone doing so is stealing from you.
No system is perfectly secure and no promise is made that this one is.
Children
This interface is not for anyone under 18 and is not directed at children.
