Swap trades one Robinhood Chain token for another. It is not limited to coins launched on Gekko: it covers the wider token list on the chain, so a trade that would otherwise need a separate site happens here, in your own wallet.

Open Trade in the menu.

How to swap#

Connect your wallet. The swap runs from your wallet and nothing moves without your signature.
Choose the two tokens. Pick what you are paying with on top and what you want underneath. The search box takes a name, a ticker or a contract address.
Type an amount. A quote appears as you type, with the amount you receive, the rate, the fees and the minimum you will get if the price moves.
Check the minimum received. That figure, not the estimate, is what the trade guarantees.
Confirm in your wallet. Paying with a token rather than ETH asks for an approval first, then the swap itself. Both appear in your wallet.

What you can swap#

Any listed token on Robinhood Chain against any other, including coins launched on Gekko.
ETH itself, wrapped and unwrapped, as either side of the trade.
Any amount your wallet holds. The balance line fills the field for you.

What swap does not do#

It never holds your funds. The trade settles from your wallet to your wallet. Gekko has no custody at any point and cannot reverse, refund or recover a trade.
It does not cross chains. Both sides are on Robinhood Chain. To move value between chains, use the Bridge.
It does not place limit orders. Every swap executes at the price available when you confirm it. Limit orders are not built yet.
It does not vet tokens. Anything tradable on the chain is swappable here, and appearing in the token list says nothing about a coin. Read Risk disclosures.

Slippage#

Slippage is how far the price is allowed to move between the quote and the trade before it is cancelled instead of filled. The default is 0.5%, with 1% and 3% available behind the settings icon.

Raise it and a trade that would have failed goes through at a worse price. Lower it and you are protected from a bad fill but more trades fail outright. A thin market or a large order needs more room than a deep one.

What it costs#

Three separate things come out of a swap, and the quote shows all of them before you confirm:

Gekko's fee, 0.1% of the amount you send. This is what the page earns.
A routing fee, charged by the infrastructure that finds and executes the trade.
Network gas, paid to Robinhood Chain in ETH, as with any transaction.

The figure that matters is the minimum received, which is quoted after everything above. Nothing is added afterwards.

If a swap fails#

A failed swap leaves your tokens where they were, less the gas the attempt spent. The usual causes are a price that moved further than your slippage allowed, a token approval that was rejected, and not enough ETH left for gas. Try again with a smaller amount or more slippage.
